Stories of Feeding God's Children Hungry in Body & Spirit
As we celebrate Women’s History Month, we honor the strength, resilience and courage of women around the world — especially those facing unimaginable challenges. Yana* is one such woman. A single mother, she is raising her 9-year-old daughter amidst the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
When Russian troops approached their city, Yana was forced to make the heartbreaking decision to flee, leaving behind the life they once knew. Now, she and her daughter live in a new city, sharing a rented apartment with another family. Adjusting to a new place is difficult, but Yana does everything she can to provide for her daughter — often relying on MannaPack® Rice to make sure her daughter’s nutritional needs are being met. At times, it has become their main source of food when there is nothing else to eat.
Yana’s story is a powerful reminder of the resilience of single mothers, particularly those navigating crises beyond their control. While we’re sharing Yana’s story, we know she is not alone — countless women around the world face similar struggles, showing incredible resilience in the face of hardship. We stand with them and remain committed to supporting women like Yana every day.
This Women’s History Month, we recognize and uplift women like Yana. By sharing her story, we honor her dedication to providing for her daughter. We invite you to join the movement this month, will you fund meals for those like Yana? Donate now
