FMSC Hunger Bulletin | August 2025

Each meal you pack, fund and pray over equips FMSC partners to do transformative work around the world. Hunger relief is usually just part of what our partners do — but food is the foundation for so much more.

How hurricanes drive hunger

We’re now in the peak of hurricane season, August through November. These powerful storms destroy crops, cut off supply chains and leave families without food overnight.

The impact lingers long after the winds die down. Food prices spike. Recovery takes months or even years. Around the globe, millions of people already living on the edge are pushed into crisis with every new storm.

That’s why meals must be ready before the next hurricane makes landfall. Your support ensures food is funded, packed and ready to meet urgent needs immediately.

The Caribbean

The Caribbean is one of the most hurricane-prone regions in the world — and one of the most vulnerable to hunger. With so many families relying on agriculture for food and income, each storm devastates harvests and leaves communities without a safety net.

Haiti, in particular, is in crisis. Nearly half the population — 5.7 million people — faces acute food insecurity, and more than 2 million are at emergency levels. Violence, economic collapse and climate shocks compound the devastation. Each hurricane season pushes families deeper into desperation.

FMSC partners use MannaPack® meals to bring stability in the wake of disasters and fuel long-term initiatives like:

  • Clean water projects
