Stories of Feeding God's Children Hungry in Body & Spirit
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in” — Matthew 25:35
I have been immensely blessed to be called to serve as CEO of Feed My Starving Children for more than 20 years. Over these decades, truly some of my greatest joy has come from seeing supporters like you step up again and again, sending lifechanging meals where they’re needed most. I know this ministry is a part of your heart, just like it is in mine.
I want you to be among the first to know that I will be retiring in spring 2025 after a new CEO is chosen.
This has been a difficult, bittersweet decision. After much prayer and discussion with the FMSC board of directors, I believe it is the right time for me to step down and for a new CEO to guide FMSC to feed even more of God’s children.
The board has engaged Vanderbloemen, a Christian search firm, to conduct a national search for a new CEO. The main requirements of the CEO are a demonstrated Christian faith and commitment to keep Christ at the center of FMSC. The new CEO will have the advantage of an amazing and faithful board, leadership team and staff.
I love FMSC — the children we feed, the partners we support, and the donors and volunteers who embrace our mission. Our mission to feed God’s starving children, hungry in body and spirit has inspired me for more than 20 years.
I am humbled how, with Christ at the center, FMSC has grown from 3 million meals in 2003 to 448 million meals provided in the last year. This is by God's grace alone, and it's been a privilege to have such a close seat to witness His work.
As I step away from my role at FMSC, I am excited to focus my life on my God, my family and helping other organizations in a volunteer capacity. Thank you in advance for your prayers during this season of transition.
The best days for FMSC are ahead. I believe wholeheartedly that God is using this organization powerfully. After I leave, I will continue to support FMSC however I can, and I know you’ll do the same — until ALL are fed.
