Stories of Feeding God's Children Hungry in Body & Spirit
"It is not enough to be compassionate – you must act." - The Dalai Lama
The top 10 New Year’s resolutions, according to researchers, have nothing to do with anyone but ourselves. The top resolution is to eat healthier, with exercise coming in a close second. Other noble personal pursuits like saving money and learning a new skill made the list.
But none of the top 10 resolutions mention doing something outside of ourselves. Changing the world. Making a difference.
While we write new goals for ourselves to get fit, eat healthy, read a certain number of books – let us also pause to consider those for whom these goals would be a luxury.
At least 6,200 children a day die from hunger-related causes. As you write your New Year’s resolutions, consider adding one that will literally change the world.

Let’s start the year with intention and resolve to feed kids, feed spirits and empower communities in the coming year.
A Prayer for 2020
May God bless you with discomfort At easy answers, half-truths,And superficial relationships
So that you may live
Deep within your heart.
May God bless you with anger
At injustice, oppression,
And exploitation of people,
So that you may work for
Justice, freedom and peace.
May God bless you with tears,
To shed for those who suffer pain,
Rejection, hunger and war,
So that you may reach out your hand
To comfort them and
To turn their pain to joy
And may God bless you
With enough foolishness
To believe that you can
Make a difference in the world,
So that you can do
What others claim cannot be done
To bring justice and kindness
To all our children and the poor.
Amen – A Franciscan Blessing
