Stories of Feeding God's Children Hungry in Body & Spirit
Another year of being able to say yes to our food distribution partners — because of you. Here is a letter from FMSC Executive Director / CEO J.J. Slag to celebrate the hope found in the 2025/26 annual report. To read the full report, visit fmsc.org/annualreport.
5 billion meals and the work continues
Thanks to you, this year, Feed My Starving Children reached 5 billion meals shipped to children around the world.
We hit this milestone in a year when hunger remained painfully urgent. War in Ukraine, conflict in the Middle East, famine in Sudan. Far from the headlines, still more families woke up facing the same question: Will there be food today?
For nearly four decades, God has worked through you and this community to answer: Yes.
This year, you provided 382,120,176 meals – enough to feed more than 1 million children a daily meal. More than 1.2 million volunteers gave their time to pack at FMSC sites and MobilePack™ events hosted across the country. Our team mobilized, innovated and stretched so meals could reach children and families in 57 countries.
In April, I visited our community-led program in Te Wouj, Haiti. Community members gathered under a tent to celebrate what reliable food has made possible in one of the most food-insecure places on Earth.
That day, I met Sister Noelle. She lost her sight years ago, but recognized the food immediately.
“The smell of FMSC food is unlike any other,” she said. “It is the smell of hope.”
The food that you provide is hope for so many.
5 billion meals is not a finish line. It is proof of what God has made possible through this community — through you — and a call to prepare for what comes next. We are 100% focused on feeding more kids in the future.
FMSC has received requests for more than 625 million meals in fiscal year 2026, the highest request total we have ever seen. Through our Invest Today, Feed Tomorrow campaign, you are helping build the capacity to feed more children.
We are growing, but we are doing so with purpose and focus. Through sustainable development programs, meal innovation and careful stewardship, FMSC is meeting urgent hunger today while helping communities move toward greater stability tomorrow.
You have done remarkable things this year. You gave. You packed. You prayed. Because you did, food reached children, parents received relief and hope moved into communities facing some of the hardest realities in the world.
As you read this report, I pray you see more than numbers on a page. I pray you see God’s faithfulness through you — and the next child still waiting for food.
Thank you for continuing this work with us.
Until ALL are fed,
J.J. Slag
Executive Director / CEO
