Stories of Feeding God's Children Hungry in Body & Spirit

FMSC Hunger Bulletin | October 2026

Each meal you pack, fund and pray over equips FMSC partners to do transformative work around the world. Hunger relief is usually just part of what our partners do — but food is the foundation for so much more.

Good farming weather can lead to booming crops, more employment opportunities and lower food prices. But the weather can change every few years, like with the periodic warming of the Pacific Ocean. Extended bad weather can have profound implications for communities already in crisis.

This year’s historic, super El Niño threatens the stability of economies and the food security of families around the world — the signs are already there.

Haitian boy, WFP, a super el nino could push 49 million people into severe hunger

Global hunger | Worldwide

We reported this year about the dangerous drought in Africa’s Sahel region and the severe food shortages in Guatemala impacted by climate conditions.

The World Food Programme predicts conditions will worsen in the Caribbean, Latin America, the Pacific and large parts of Asia and Africa.

FMSC meals are already in many of the areas expected to be hit hardest by El Niño. We work closely with our partners in the field to anticipate and respond early to potential catastrophes or hunger crises.

Before the worst weather comes, we can act to reduce the impacts of El Niño.
